Saxton hails water quality improvement |
|
North Vancouver, May 7, 2010– Andrew Saxton, Member of Parliament for North Vancouver, today commented on the opening of the Seymour-Capilano Water Filtration Plant, and praised the project as a highly successful product of intergovernmental cooperation.
The Seymour-Capilano Plant – the largest water filtration plant in Canada - officially opens today in North Vancouver thanks to a partnership between the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia and Metro Vancouver.

The 2010 Annual General Meeting of the North Vancouver Electoral District Association of the Conservative Party of Canada will be held

The matters to be dealt with at the meeting are as follows:
1. Report by the Board of Directors
2. Presentation of Financial Statements by our Financial Agent
3. Election of Directors, including a report from the Nominating Committee
5. Report from Andrew Saxton, MP and Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury Board

Mr. Speaker, four days ago Tropical Storm Ketsana hit the Philippines, causing the nation’s worst flooding in more than 40 years. I want Canadians and the Filipino community in the Lower Mainland and across Canada to know that this government did not wait before responding to this tragedy.

Government of Canada Invests in North Vancouver |

North Vancouver, BC– Andrew Saxton, Member of Parliament for North Vancouver, on behalf of the Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, today announced federal funding to upgrade recreational facilities in North Vancouver. The Government of Canada, in partnership with the City of North Vancouver, District 5 Little League and the North Vancouver Central Little League, will fund upgrades to the baseball facilities at Chris Zuehlke Memorial Park in North Vancouver. The project includes improvements to the sports field, concession building, dug outs and seating area and the construction of a new scoreboard. Minister Peter Kent On Canada’s Relationship With Iran |
Rose OF Peace NORTH VANCOUVER: On July 16, the Honourable Peter Kent, Canada’s Minister of State of Foreign Affairs, attended Rose of Peace, a forum in North Vancouver to discuss recent political events in Iran. The forum was hosted and organized by North Vancouver M.P. Andrew Saxton, and was attended by nearly one hundred members of the North Shore’s Persian and Iranian Community, in solidarity with the people of Iran. (full version in PDF) |

Andrew Saxton is the Member of Parliament for North Vancouver and a former businessman.He was elected on October 14, 2008 and named Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board on November 7, 2008. He also serves on the Public Accounts and Scrutiny of Regulations Committees.
Andrew spent his early childhood living on the North Shore where his father built the Grouse Mountain skyride and headed up the mountain resort.
After graduating with a degree in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario in 1986, Andrew started his career in finance with Credit Suisse in Switzerland. He later took a position with Credit Suisse in New York and thereafter returned to Vancouver with the same firm. In 1994 Andrew moved to Hong Kong with HSBC and in 1997 he was appointed Senior Vice President of HSBC in Singapore.

Recently, Andrew was the CEO of King George Financial Corp, an investment firm. He lives in the Deep Cove area and is active in local, volunteer and charitable organizations:
Former member of the Board of Directors, Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon; Member, North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce; former Member BC's Asia Pacific Trade Council.
Andrew enjoys outdoor sports and the great natural environment of this beautiful riding. Andrew is fluent in English and French.
